From my crystal ball, the Flyers will make modest gains from last season, going from 96 to 99 points. But they will be more dangerous entering the playoffs because their young players will have a year under their belt.
Unlike in 2015-16, that should translate to them winning a playoff round and set the stage for next season, when they will finally have enough cap space to add another offensive piece.
Some fearless predictions for the 2016-17 season:
Flyers: 44-27-11 record, 6th in East, 99 points, second-round playoff exit.
Points for Claude Giroux: 76.
