In a season full of disappointment and frustration, captain Claude Giroux has been one of the few bright spots, and today the Flyers’ leading scorer was named to the 2019 All-Star Game. This will be Giroux’s second straight season as an all-star and it will be his sixth all-star game of his brilliant career. His first coming in the 2010-11 season, a then breakout season for the Flyers center, with appearances also coming in 2012, 2015, and 2016.
Giroux will most likely be the lone Flyers all-star game representative, unless a Flyer takes the spot of Alex Ovechkin from the Capitals who will not be participating.
