Flyers backup goaltender Michal Neuvirth participated in morning skate before Monday's preseason game in New York before being ruled out. He said Wednesday morning he was feeling the affects of a shot that got him in a bad spot.
He missed practice Tuesday but was back between the pipes Wednesday night against New Jersey, with Phantoms goalie Jason LaBarbera serving as the backup. Steve Mason was given the night off.
Neuvirth made 15 saves on 18 shots in the first two periods and did not come back for the third period.
The 3-2 deficit he left the Flyers with after two periods ended up getting to a final of 4-2 with a late empty-netter in the two teams' penultimate preseason game.
