Travis Konecny and Travis Sanheim will attend Canada's 2016 World Junior selection camp, Hockey Canada announced on Tuesday.
The two Flyers draft picks are among 17 forwards, 11 defensemen and two goaltenders named to the camp. It begins Thursday, December 10 in Etobicoke, Ont. and will last through Sunday, December 14.
We'd have to bet that both Sanheim and Konecny make the team. It's a deep roster and will be tough for the coaching staff to get down to the six defensemen and 12 forwards they're allowed to take to Finland for the World Junior Championship. But Sanheim is among the best defensemen in the Western Hockey League today, having a standout season with the Calgary Hitmen, while Konecny is ninth in scoring in the Ontario Hockey League with 39 points in 25 games.
