Cam York, University of Michigan roll in season opener

Philadelphia Flyers’ 2019 first-round pick Cam York and the University of Michigan Wolverines cruised to victory last night in their season opener as they crushed the Arizona State University Sun Devils 8-1. York was one of three Wolverines with a three-point performance or better, as center Kent Johnson (2021 NHL Draft prospect) had four assists and defenseman Owen Power (2021 NHL Draft prospect) had the same stat line as the Flyers’ prospect with a goal and two apples.

After Matty Beniers (2021 NHL Draft prospect) opened the scoring 7:46 into the contest, Michigan took advantage of a Willie Knierim slash to jump out to a 2-0 lead with 11:22 left in the opening frame.
