Andrew MacDonald is out with an upper-body injury and will not play on Wednesday night against the Detroit Red Wings, the Flyers announced. They say he's day-to-day.
That likely means that defenseman Evgeny Medvedev will check back into the lineup for what will be a pivotal game in the postseason standings. Medvedev hasn't played in a month.
MacDonald was hurt in the third period when he was crunched into the boards by Pittsburgh's Tom Kuhnhackl. It was a hit from behind that was not penalized, although there's some debate on whether MacDonald's slip just prior to the hit contributed to the injury.
