A shootout win? A shootout win!

A win is a win. Sure, the Philadelphia Flyers surrendered the game’s first goal for the sixth time in six games. And sure, blowing what was a three-goal lead with under twenty-three minutes left in regulation is less than ideal. But when the fans walked out of the Wells Fargo Center with their Jakub Voracek Chia Pets on Tuesday night, they did so celebrating a home victory for the first time since the final game of last year’s regular season.

Claude Giroux and Wayne Simmonds each netted a pair of goals, Jordan Weal added his first of the year and tacked on the game-winner in the shootout, Voracek also converted his attempt, while Calvin “call me Cal” Pickard was good enough in relief after Brian Elliott allowed four goals on 23 shots.
