Sean Couturier 6-foot-3, 211-pounds C: A defensive specialist, he will get a chance to improve his mediocre offensive game as he starts the season as the No. 1 center.
Valtteri Filppula 6-0, 196 C: The Flyers played much better after acquiring Filppula in a trade last season with Tampa Bay, and he balances the lines.
Claude Giroux 5-11, 185 LW/C: After a disappointing season (14 goals, 58 points), the former center won’t have as much defensive responsibility and the Flyers hope he flourishes at LW.
