With the 14th overall pick, after trading down from 11th overall, the Philadelphia Flyers have selected defenseman Cam York from the U.S National Development Team. This past season, York scored 33 points in 26 games in the USHL. He adds into the already plentiful group of mobile defensemen in the Flyers system who have already made the leap to the NHL level.
York is a University of Michigan commit, and the Flyers have addressed the need to replenish the prospect pool on defense with the likes of Philippe Myers and Travis Sanheim and more making the jump over the past couple of seasons.
