The Philadelphia Eagles‘ secondary will be looking a little different in 2016. Gone are Byron Maxwell and Walter Thurmond (who is reportedly set to retire). The Eagles have a youthful core of cornerbacks, with the average age of an Eagles corner being just over 24 years old. The addition of Jim Schwartz as the team’s defensive coordinator this offseason is a significant one and with him will come some major schematic changes in his new 4-3 defense.
There will be an open competition this summer for both spots at outside corner between second-year player Eric Rowe, 30-year-old Leodis McKelvin and Nolan Carroll, but another position battle to keep an eye on is at slot corner, where several players will look to make an impact.
