Imitation is the best form of flattery.
Doug Pederson took a page from Bill Belichick’s Super Bowl playbook on fourth and goal and called Nick Foles’ number for a touchdown catch. Yes, a catch.
Here’s the big play:
Foles faked confusion with the offensive line and a direct snap to Corey Clement led to a pitch to Trey Burton, who found a streaking Foles in the end zone wide open. Foles hauled it in and celebrated his first career touchdown catch.
It was reminiscent of Belichick’s first-quarter end-around that left Tom Brady wide open, but Brady and his possibly gimpy hand couldn’t bring the catch in.
