THIS EAGLES' coaching staff seems to want to err on the side of youth, whenever possible.
Right now, much of the Delaware Valley is thinking that Doug Pederson and offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland are erring just a tad too much to that side. Some fans might opt for even more pungent wording.
Pederson said Monday that Halapoulivaati Vaitai will start this week against the Minnesota Vikings, a better defensive team than the Washington one that annihilated rookie right tackle Vaitai in his NFL debut, holding Pederson's offense without a touchdown Sunday at FedEx Field.
This was also what Pederson had said after Sunday's 27-20 loss, and what he had said last Friday, when he stressed he was committed to Vaitai as the replacement for Lane Johnson, who is serving a 10-game NFL suspension for his second PED violation.
