Sproles' punt return TD was the 2nd longest in team history. It was his 3rd as an Eagle. Only DeSean Jackson (4) has more.
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Standing alone in punt return formation, Darren Sproles patiently waited for the ball. The Eagles were up 3-0 over the Jets at MetLife Stadium with only one quarter of play behind them. This was Sproles’ moment to help spark his team.
With the ball coming his way, the veteran made the catch at the 11-yard line. From there, his skill took over. Sproles successfully dodged tackle after tackle as he made his way down the field, and 89 yards later he was in the end zone scoring his third punt return touchdown as an Eagle, the sixth of his career.
