In a move that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, tight end Trey Burton will officially be back with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017. Burton signed his restricted free agent tender Monday, which will keep him in Philadelphia for one year at a price of $2.7 million.
The Eagles made the move official Monday afternoon.
Earlier this offseason, the Eagles placed a second-round tender on Burton. With the tender placed on him, Burton had the right to accept an offer sheet from a different team. If he had gone to another team, the Eagles would have received a second-round draft pick in exchange for the 25-year-old tight end had they chosen not to match the other team’s offer.
