Look at his coaching background and you see that Mike Groh has touched every part of an offense in his career. He’s worked with quarterbacks after his career at the position at the University of Virginia. Wide receivers, well, we saw the brilliant job last year with the Eagles’ group. Offensive coordinator? Check. Did that for three seasons at Virginia.
Now Groh, in his second season in Philadelphia, has been elevated from wide receivers coach to offensive coordinator, the Eagles announced on Wednesday. Groh’s promotion, and the one that moves Press Taylor from offensive quality control coach/assistant quarterbacks coach to quarterbacks coach, were necessitated by the departures of quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo (to Minnesota as offensive coordinator) and offensive coordinator Frank Reich (to Indianapolis as head coach).
