In the bare-bones world that is NFL preseason football, the play calling is kept very basic, the pre-game scouting is minimal and the emphasis is on the evaluation of players, not schemes. In other words, what you see in the preseason isn’t often what you get in the regular season, as Eagles fans found out very quickly last year.
Through two preseason games this year, the Eagles’ first-team offense has experienced some bumpy moments. In the first game against Tampa Bay, quarterback Sam Bradford and the first-team offense played three snaps, moved 17 yards and scored a touchdown.
