DARREN SPROLES was everything the Eagles hoped he'd be when they picked up the then-30-year-old running back at a garage sale in New Orleans last year for a fifth-round pick.
He led the league in punt returns with a 13.0-yard average. He had a career-high six rushing touchdowns and registered the second-highest rushing average of his career (5.8 yards per carry). Went to his very first Pro Bowl.
Interestingly, the one thing he didn't really do was have much of an effect on the Eagles' passing game.
Which was surprising, because Sproles is one of the best pass-catching backs in the league.
