Sports science continues with Doug Pederson, but some initiatives "cut way back"

After the Eagles fired Chip Kelly in December, the team still wanted to maintain a sports science department and utilize the tools and strategies that became a popular discussion point during Kelly’s three years with the Eagles.

New coach Doug Pederson has tried to learn more about sports science, admitting “it’s definitely changed” since he was a player. The Eagles have a 10-person “sports science team” on their payroll, including director of high performance Shaun Huls and head strength coach Josh Hingst, both of whom came to the Eagles with Kelly in 2013. Pederson said some of the initiatives have been "cut way back," but it's still a part of the Eagles' program.
