Sound familiar? Defense is bailing out Eagles' offense

IT'S STILL EARLY, but this team has a familiar flavor, doesn't it?

Think about it.

A hotshot offensive coach arrives in Philadelphia with his can't-fail scheme. He quickly establishes that the team would be his fascist tyranny (George Hegamin = DeSean Jackson), adds a big-name quarterback who raises eyebrows and proceeds to turn heads with the team's success.

In the end, though, it is the defense, led by a charismatic coordinator without a great pedigree, that takes the team as far as it goes.

In Andy Reid's case, it was Jim Johnson who established the Eagles' indentity, one they eventually rode go all the way to the Super Bowl.
