By any standard you care to use, Vinny Curry didn’t play very well last season.
His pass-rush numbers – just 2 ½ sacks and 10 hurries in a career-high 435 snaps — just aren’t good enough for a fifth-year edge rusher.
Throw in the fact that Howie Roseman, in what clearly wasn’t his finest negotiating hour, gave Curry, who was eligible for free agency in 2016, a hefty five-year, $46.25 million contract extension 16 months ago, and those 2 ½ sacks look even more unimpressive.
In his defense, Curry wasn’t the only Eagles defensive lineman who came up small last season.
