The Philadelphia Eagles announced that former linebacker Shawn Barber has been added to the team’s scouting department. Barber is the franchise’s recipient of the Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship, a new program launched by the NFL aimed at introducing former players to the world of player personnel and the duties of an NFL scout.
The fellowship previously belonged to Brian Dawkins before Dawkins was hired full-time as a football operations executive.
Barber played 10 seasons in the NFL, two of which came with the Eagles (2002 and 2006). In 2002, he started all 16 games at linebacker, intercepting two passes, forcing two fumbles and recovering three fumbles.
