As each pick was made in the second round of Friday’s NFL draft, the stress level kept elevating for Temple offensive lineman Dion Dawkins.
“I was a nervous wreck,” Dawkins said on Saturday in a phone interview.
Dawkins was selected as the second to last choice in the second round, 63rd overall by the Buffalo Bills.
“Once I got the call, my entire night got brighter,” Dawkins said.
Dawkins said he had nine pre-draft meetings with NFL teams, but Buffalo wasn’t one of them.
“I was surprised because I had very little indication that Buffalo was interested,” Dawkins said.
