I have no problem with what the Eagles did in the draft. But the way it unfolded, I just would have done it differently. Which is why it’s an inexact science. With few exceptions, nobody really knows for sure.
The only certainty is that a number of first-round picks won’t end up being what most of the so-called experts thought they’d be, and some will turn out being maybe better than advertised. There’s no getting around that. That’s why you have a Marcus Smith, and a Fletcher Cox. Or was that Jeremy Maclin? You can only hope you get more of them right than wrong.
