The Buccaneers are not expected to sign former Eagles and current veteran free agent wide receiver Riley Cooper after giving him a tryout during Tampa Bay’s rookie minicamp, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.
This news should hardly come as a surprise. If the Buccaneers wanted to sign Cooper outright, they could have just done that. Sure, he’s been out of football for a year, but they already know what the 29-year-old receiver brings to the table. They weren’t going to learn much more about him during a rookie minicamp session.
