Report: Walter Thurmond Retiring From NFL

A University of Oregon product, Thurmond played six seasons in the NFL. His lone season with the Eagles came in 2015, the best year of his career. After making the position change from cornerback to safety, Thurmond won the starting job opposite of Malcolm Jenkins and started all 16 games. He recorded a career-best three interceptions and ran one back for a touchdowns against the Giants in the regular-season finale. He also forced two fumbles, recovered one fumble, and notched a safety against the Miami Dolphins.

Thurmond spent his first four seasons with Seattle and played one year with the New York Giants, though he only suited up for two games before tearing his pectoral muscle and missing the rest of the season.
