The New York Giants missed out on rumored top target Matt Rhule so they hired someone else instead: New England Patriots special teams coordinator and wide receivers coach Joe Judge.
Wait. Who?
Judge is a 38-year-old Philadelphia native (traitor!) who attended Lansdale Catholic High School. Or at least that’s what Wikipedia tells me. He spent time coaching in the college ranks from 2005 through 2011 before making the jump to the NFL in 2012.
Here’s how the Patriots’ special teams have ranked in DVOA since Judge was promoted to coordinator five years ago:

2016 — 8th
2017 — 3rd
2018 — 16th
