Perhaps there was some legitimacy to Melvin Gordon following the Eagles on Instagram after all. Okay, maybe not, but according to MMQB’s Albert Breer, the Birds did actually try to trade for the two-time Pro Bowler.
So Howie Roseman offered Jordan Howard, who was traded for this offseason and is in his contract year, and a mid-round pick swap. That’s probably the ‘Howiest’ offer possible, but the Chargers are trying to maximize their return.
According to a source, the Chargers want at least ‘a first-round pick and an additional asset’. Now, this is obviously setting the bar high in order to negotiate down, but it does make the Eagles’ offer look a little underwhelming.
