Report: Eagles hire Georgia assistant QB coach to Nick Sirianni’s coaching staff

The Philadelphia Eagles are hiring Georgia assistant quarterbacks coach Montgomery VanGorder as an offensive assistant on Nick Sirianni’s coaching staff, according to a report from Matt Zenitz.

It’s worth noting that the Eagles recently lost offensive assistant Kyle Valero with Kellen Moore hiring him away to the New Orleans Saints’ coaching staff.

VanGorder seemingly has familiarity with new Eagles quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler. The two haven’t previously coached together but VanGorder’s father, Brian, was Loeffler’s defensive coordinator at Bowling Green from 2019-2020.

Here’s some insight on VanGorder and his work at Georgia from Dawg Nation:

VanGorder has been working at Georgia since the 2019 season, working his way up the organizational depth chart.
