Of the six members of the Eagles' 2015 draft class, just one is an offensive player- wide receiver and first-round pick Nelson Agholor. But one of the five defenders actually has an offensive background.
JaCorey Shepherd, the first of the Eagles’ two sixth-round picks, started his career at Kansas as a wide receiver, totaling 107 yards and two touchdowns as a true freshman. Before his sophomore season started, the Jayhawks had a need for cornerback depth, and the coaching staff saw Shepherd’s potential.
“We didn’t have a lot of depth at the corner position,” Shepherd explained on his Saturday conference call.
