The Philadelphia Eagles‘ depth at the defensive line was seen as one of their biggest strengths heading into 2019, especially along the interior portion. The ability to rotate Malik Jackson, Timmy Jernigan and Fletcher Cox seemed to be a great talking point. Unfortunately, after one game that’s no longer the case. Jackson is lost for the season, and Philly moved quickly, replacing him with Akeem Spence.
Was Spence the right guy though?
In the wake of Jackson’s Lisfranc injury and Spence’s signing, Timmy Jernigan will move up to the starter’s role while Hassan Ridgeway is likely to see an uptick of snaps as well, but let’s look at some other options Philly had.
