Throughout the summer, the Philadelphia Eagles have hosted multiple position battles in training camp. Running back was one. Backup defensive end and safety were another. However, the most intriguing battle could’ve very well been the cornerback position.
Last year, the Eagles started the year off with Jalen Mills and Ronald Darby on the outside with Sidney Jones in the nickel. This year, Doug Pederson announced the starting group as Ronald Darby and Sidney Jones on the outside, with Avonte Maddox in the nickel for week one.
Meanwhile, Rasul Douglas, who had arguably one of the most improved offseasons within the Eagles locker room will resume his role as a reserve — for now at least.
