The Philadelphia Eagles signed ex-Jacksonville quarterback Stephen Morris as their third quarterback after trading third year quarterback Matt Barkley to the Cardinals and releasing quarterback Tim Tebow. Signing Morris was the most confusing move of the three.
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly explained Tebow’s release by saying that Tebow “just wasn’t talented enough” to be the third string quarterback. While I agree, the move to replace Tebow with Morris doesn’t make much sense seeing as Jacksonville didn’t feel Morris was good enough to be THEIR third string quarterback (spoiler alert: their starter and second string quarterback aren’t very good either).
