A little less than a month ago, free agent offensive guard Evan Mathis torched former head coach Chip Kelly by tweeting he had “no regard for human life.”
If, as rumored, the Philadelphia Eagles reach out to Mathis to plug a leaky hole in their offensive line, the beauty of the potential move could be that GM Howie Roseman gets to at least figuratively slap Kelly in the face. Kelly cut Mathis when the guard asked for more money and then Mathis latched on with a Denver Broncos team that won the Super Bowl.
