The Philadelphia Eagles made a somewhat surprising albeit minor roster move Monday evening, announcing the release of third-year running back Matthew Tucker with a non-football injury designation. The team has not disclosed the nature of Tucker’s injury.
An UDFA out of TCU, Tucker spent the last two seasons with the Eagles — though largely as a practice squad player.
With the release of Tucker, the Eagles are left with Demarco Murray, Ryan Mathews, Darren Sproles, Kenjon Barner, and Raheem Mostert on the depth chart.
