Let the cuts begin.
The Philadelphia Eagles have cut their roster down to 73 players ahead of the 4 PM deadline on Tuesday.
The decision to release Chris Givens was surprising, but even more surprising is the release of Rueben Randle. The Eagles signed Randle in free agency to a one-year deal. Earlier this offseason, Doug Pederson called Randle a “pleasant surprise.”
Something has obviously changed since then.
Randle was a non-factor in all of the Eagles’ preseason games and lacked the playmaking ability he showed in the past with the New York Giants.
