Prior to giving the city of Philadelphia their hockey team, Ed Snider was the treasurer and vice president of the Philadelphia Eagles, and on Monday April 11th current Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie paid tribute to one of the city’s favorite sons after his children announced he had lost his bout with cancer.
Much can be said about Snider and what the Philadelphia Flyers have and always will mean to the city, but Lurie’s words sum it up the best. Here’s a direct quote from the top man in the Eagles’ organization.
“Ed was a true visionary and a pioneer who did tremendous things for our city and for the sport of hockey.
