Coaches for the Philadelphia Eagles have been raving about the work ethic and talent Ryan Mathews has showcased in his short time as a member of the team. Mathews originally came onto the national scene by turning heads at Fresno State University. Mathews was noted by scouts as a freshman by leading his class, nationally, in both rushing yardage (866) and touchdowns (14). In 2009, he dominated the competition and averaged an astounding 150.67 yards per game, through only 12 contests. NFL scouts salivated about his ability to turn up the field and break tackles, while also possessing soft hands.
