Even after the roster overhaul leading up to free agency and the draft, Chip Kelly isn’t done making moves. In a sort of, kind of, not really all that shocking decision, Kelly traded cornerback Brandon Boykin from the Philadelphia Eagles across the state to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a conditional 2016 fifth-round draft pick. On paper, it’s a deal that makes the Eagles a bit weaker in the secondary, but in the end it was the right thing to do.
It may not have been a headline-worthy situation, but the reality is the situation between Boykin and the Eagles was reaching a critical point.
