The Philadelphia Eagles traded away cornerback Brandon Boykin to the Pittsburgh Steelers last Saturday for a conditional fifth-round pick that could potentially turn into a fourth-rounder. It has been obvious over the last two years that the Eagles defense hasn’t necessarily been a top unit, specifically in the secondary — ranking 31st and 32nd in those seasons. To trade away one of the team’s best cornerbacks simply doesn’t make sense.
Boykin started six games over the last three seasons, but he’s arguably been one of the best cornerbacks in the league.
