A little over two weeks after the Super Bowl, the phrase “Philly Special” keeps rolling off of the tongues of Philadelphia Eagles fans everywhere. Now, the Eagles organization looks to trademark said phrase. One would think that their efforts to do so would be granted, and the Eagles organization can cash in on apparel. The truth, however, is it’s not going to be that easy.
Smaller companies have popped up around the map. The phrase continues to pick up steam. Now, the forward-thinking Eagles will look to counteract that if they’re able to trademark the phrase that they’re responsible for making so popular.
