With DeVonta Smith‘s selection by the Philadelphia Eagles in Round 1 of the most recent NFL Draft, Birds fans knew they’d be cheering after every great thing he did on the field for years to come, but like so many other guys who have worn the midnight green or kelly green jersey before him, he’s giving fans reason to cheer for him off of the field as well.

Whether it’s been Jeffrey Lurie doing great things with his Eagles Autism Foundation, past demonstrations of philanthropy by guys like Malcolm Jenkins and Carson Wentz, Chris Long donating his entire salary to charity, or Rodney McLeod handing out over 40,000 pounds of fresh food for so many families the Birds have long been a nice mix of characters who also possess tremendous character.
