Here are two things we all learned when the ball slipped through the hands of Alshon Jeffery during the divisional round of the NFL Playoffs and it became certain that the Philadelphia Eagles wouldn’t be winning a second straight Super Bowl.
One, it’s easier to lose in the playoffs when you have that world title in your back pocket. Second, though the pressure of winning that first Super Bowl is off of the Eagles organization, no one is satisfied. All the talk is about winning another.
Perhaps some of that was on the minds of the Monday Morning Quarterback staff as they put their heads together to pen a piece on the most likely franchises to hoist the Lombardi Trophy sometime over the next five years.
