Every year for the last five seasons, one NFL player gets the honor of being called the Sportsman of the year. Back in 2014, the NFL formed what is called the ‘Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award,’ and just one player wins is based on votes from around the league.
First, players have to get selected by their own organization, though. Each of the 32 NFL teams will vote on their pick for the sportsman of the year, then the rest of the league votes based on what they’ve seen from the 32 nominees listed.
This year, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has been nominated by his team to represent the program.
