Now that the election season is over, we're going to find out whether the public's fascination with the presidential campaign really was a factor in the NFL's declining TV ratings.
According to this report from media industry reporting stalwart Broadcasting and Cable, it sounds as if the league is already preparing to face the possibility that there's more to the problem.
Speaking at a National Association of Broadcasters event Wednesday in New York, NFL Media executive vice president Brian Rolapp acknowledged that "we don't blame everything on the election."
Rolapp, who is also president and CEO of NFL Network, specifically said that pace of games is a problem.
