This has been a good week for former Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Michael Bennett.
On Tuesday, Bennett received a pay raise from the New England Patriots. On Wednesday, the felony charge of injury of the elderly against Bennett was dismissed.
The following statement comes from Vivian King, chief of staff for District Attorney Kim Ogg (via the Houston Chronicle):
“After looking at all the evidence and applying the law, a crime could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. There was probable cause to warrant a charge initially, but after a careful review of all the pre-charge and post-charge evidence, we cannot prove this case beyond a reasonable doubt.
