Marcus Smith will miss 2-3 weeks with a hamstring injury, the linebacker said. He expects to be back for the regular season. The injury comes at a depleted position and is a setback for the 2014 first-round pick.
“I’m glad it wasn’t anything major, but it’s still something that keeps him out,” defensive coordinator Bill Davis said before practice on Friday. “It’s disappointing, probably to him more than anybody. He was really taking some growth steps and coming along, and now he’s got a setback.”
With Smith out, the Eagles are now down their fourth outside linebacker this summer.
