Before there was a Lincoln Financial Field, there was Veterans Stadium. A smile typically crosses the face of any Philadelphia Eagles fans when you bring up “The Vet”. Yeah, that place was a dump, and that’s really why we loved it so much. There was “the 500 level”, a slab of concrete under the turf and a judge that sat in the bowels of stadium. His only job was to see the unruly fans who couldn’t conduct themselves appropriately on game day.
If you would have left it up to most of the Eagles fans, “The Vet” would still be standing and football would still be played there.
