The Eagles, who already are thin at outside linebacker, just got thinner. Marcus Smith, the team’s 2014 first-round pick and the projected backup to starters Brandon Graham and Connor Barwin, left Thursday’s joint practice with the Baltimore Ravens on a cart with a right leg injury.
He is the fourth outside ‘backer to go down in training camp.
The severity of the injury wasn’t known, but it’s never good when they need a cart to get you off the field.
With Smith out, special teams ace Bryan Braman now becomes the top backup to Graham and Barwin.
