Through three weeks, the Eagles’ defense has been the glue that’s held the team together despite struggles on the offensive side of the ball. The unit has been on the field for more offensive plays than any other in the league this season, and even with injuries to a handful of key starters has held opponents to 5.0 yards per play, good for sixth best in the NFL.
One of the catalysts for Philadelphia’s strong play on the defensive side has been safety Malcolm Jenkins, who leads the team in tackles (22), forced fumbles (2) and deflected passes (5).
