THE EAGLES MADE A TRADE…and it probably wasn’t the one you were expecting. Philly has parted ways with an undisclosed 2021 draft pick in exchange for DE Genard Avery. Okay, let’s break this down.
WHO?
Avery was a sixth-round rookie in 2018 who actually had a really productive season, registering 4.5 sacks and 40 tackles. This year, he’s been a healthy scratch for the majority of the season.
There’s no real reason for this, either, other than the fact that the Browns went from a 4-3 scheme where he played as an OLB, to a 4-2-5 where he’s a defensive end.
